I InstaFile Fast image tools

Roadmap

What comes next

A short, practical record of what is finished and what InstaFile needs before its next stage of growth.

Owner setup

Operate the scalable media plane

Feature flagged

The durable PostgreSQL job queue, private S3-compatible storage adapter, browser polling, worker lanes, retries, heartbeats, stale-job recovery, result cleanup, protected Free vector previews, and exact-result download access are implemented. Production PostgreSQL, private R2 storage, worker services, monitoring, and non-vector lane acceptance are live; the new vector purchase path still needs staging and live billing acceptance.

Migrate accounts to PostgreSQL before adding public API replicas. The compatibility layer and migration are built. Keep one replica until the owner completes the backup, migration, verification, and cutover in the Launch TODO.
  1. 1
Create PostgreSQL and a private bucket

Account owner: approve billing, disable public access, and issue least-privilege credentials.

    Owner
  2. 2
    Configure the API service

Add database and storage secrets, verify health, then enable the asynchronous-jobs feature flag.

    Shared
  3. 3
    Create workload-specific workers

Deploy the same image in worker mode with separate image, video/GIF, PDF, vector, and capture lanes.

    Shared
  4. 4
    Prove recovery, metering, and cleanup

Restart a worker mid-job and verify retries, downloads, per-successful-image credits, and expired-object deletion.
